Antenatal Course Information
All the courses that the Branch run are for women and their partners.
Our regular courses consist of 6 sessions before the baby is born and a post-natal reunion once the baby has arrived.
As an alternative for those expecting subsequent babies we provide a shorter refresher course.
The courses offered are complete and it is advisable to attend all sessions - however if either of you have to miss a week the other partner is welcome to attend.
If for whatever reason we cannot accommodate your needs with either of the courses detailed above please talk to the booking clerk to see if any alternative arrangements can be made.

Course contents are flexible to meet group requirements; they comprise discussion and practical activities and will cover:
All NCT workers are trained within the Trust but do not necessarily hold medical qualifications.
Please Note:Our teachers and breastfeeding counsellors undergo a thorough training with the NCT, although they are not required to be medically qualified. All teachers and counsellors are expected to keep up to date with the latest developments in maternity care and must register with the NCT each year. Their role is to offer support, information, practical skills and resources to help parents to make informed choices for themselves and their babies. They do not offer medical advice and parents are asked to take any questions about the medical care of mother and baby to their midwife, health visitor or doctor.
Course Costs
The cost of a full antenatal course is £148, including membership.
Shorter and refresher courses are charged "pro-rata" The NCT is a charity. Nobody is excluded from classes because they cannot pay the fee. If you wish to discuss a reduction in your fee or to spread your payments.
